The case of Gisèle Pelicot drew attention from both French and international media: the retired French woman who was drugged by her husband and raped by more than 70 men over ten years, waved her anonymity and agreed to make the trial public. The project Without Her Knowing took the form of a photography zine with the first-person text narrative to navigate through the facts of the Pelicots relationship reflecting on what might be hidden behind the beautiful and mundane of a ‘happy’ family life.
